candle-safety

How to love your candle

  • The first burn is most important. When you light for the first time allow your candle to melt completely to the edges of container to avoid tunnelling and extend the life of your candle
  • Trim the wick to 1/4" before you relight to keep the wax clean burning nicely and prevent smoking soot and the wick from mushrooming
  • Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time, allow enough time for the wax to solidify before re-lighting again
  • Never leave unattended
  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets
  • Place on a stable heat resistant surface (eg coaster or plate) away from flammable objects before lighting
  • Do not use candle as a night light
  • Do not allow candle to burn completely down to the bottom of container.  Discontinue when about 1/2 " of non molten wax remains at the bottom of vessel
  • Containers may become hot,  never touch a candle vessel while it is lit and allow sufficient time for a candle to cool off before handling
  • When candle is finished simply use warm soapy water to clean vessel, re-use the tin/glass for trinkets
